CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Housing organizations from around central Virginia gathered in Charlottesville on Saturday. An Affordable Housing Resource Fair was held at the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library.

Representatives from groups like Habitat for Humanity, the Piedmont Housing Alliance, Local Energy Alliance Partnership and others were on hand. They walked attendees through resources for people in need of emergency housing, home rehabilitation, legal aid, and more.

"Yeah, that was the idea to bring it all in one place people can easily access source that they don't because sometimes that's the struggle is where do I start who do I turn to you hear that a lot from people that came today. So having them in the room where they could, you know, meet them they didn't have to go out and look for them,” Katie Gorrell, with Jefferson-Madison Regional Library, said.

The library says it doesn't have a set date for the next housing resources fair, but it hopes to have these events every year.
