CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The University of Virginia men's basketball team has begun it's national championship defense and on Wednesday night, dozens of fans packed into Alumni Hall to watch the action unfold.

The UVA Alumni Association hosted the watch party to give fans another option other than watching at home. Besides watching the game, fans played games such as BINGO and trivia for a chance to win prices.

"We love living in a university town, we enjoy all the activities along with being here, not just the sports, but all of the culture and arts and other kinds of entertainment so it's a great place to be," said UVA fans Larry Brown.

In addition to the other activities, the Alumni Association also raffled off a basketball signed by head coach Tony Bennett.

As the season continues, staff with the Alumni Association will be hosting many more watch parties. The next one is scheduled for December 4.
