ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Democrat Donna Price will take over the Scottsville seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. Price won 55% of the vote on Tuesday night.

She says she wants to give a voice to those who live in more rural areas, in order to bring good governance to the entire county.

"The first thing I’m going to do is what I pledged during the campaign. I am going to reach out to the leadership of the Republican Party and say let's sit down and talk. Because these issues we deal with are non-partisan,” said Price.

Price won the seat over longtime Albemarle County defense attorney and Republican, Mike Hallahan. He conceded early Tuesday night.

Also, the current Albemarle County supervisor for the White Hall District, Ann Mallek, will keep her seat for another four years. Mallek received nearly 57% of the vote over Steve Harvey.

Mallek believes the county could benefit from investing in efforts to reduce the county's carbon footprint. She has served on the board of supervisors since 2008.
