CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - With interest rates and unemployment rates both low in central Virginia the real estate market remains especially strong.

The Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS (CAAR) released its latest report Friday, November 1.

The average number of days on the market in the 3rd Quarter is down by one week from a year ago, according to the report.

"Interest rates are good, unemployment is down. Like I said before, this is a great area to live in both from an employment standpoint and also other amenities, and just quality of life," said CAAR 2019 President-Elect Tom Woolfolk.

Woolfolk says with home prices continuing to climb and a relatively limited number of homes on listings, it remains a seller's market.
