CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Students from Charlottesville High School will soon be rubbing elbows with professional actors and designers, as part of a competition in Norfolk. This year, they are bringing a 45-minute one-act play to the Virginia Theater Association's state competition.

The play, called ‘Failure: A Love Story’ is directed by student Jack Heaphy, who says he has been able to develop friendships as well as professional relationships through theater.

“I've learned how it’s best to navigate certain ways in which I have to work with people because there are so many different elements that go into a show and I think I have learned the best ways to make sure that everything happens,” said Heaphy.

A send-off performance of the show is taking place at the Charlottesville High School Black Box Theater on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
