CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Volunteers from the University of Virginia are helping to build a better community by giving one of Virginia’s oldest preschools a makeover.

On Saturday, the University of Virginia Darden School of Business teamed up with the Building Goodness Foundation for the annual Fall Build Day. Volunteers spent the day landscaping and working on construction projects at the Barrett Early Learning Center in Charlottesville.

"Without the time and the resources that we're able to donate they wouldn't be able to have the rest of their finances go towards the kids and where it really needs to be focused. Just any way that we can empower the other organizations in this community to reach their potential,” said Ericka Schubert, volunteer.

Darden and the Building Goodness Foundation will team up again in the spring to complete additional projects around Charlottesville.
