CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The annual Parade of Homes has a new addition this year.

The Thomas Jefferson Community Land Trust has a series of homes on display. The houses on Nassau Street in Charlottesville are the first nonprofit ones featured in the parade.

The organization provides ownership opportunities for low and moderate-income households through a leasing partnership.

“I think it's very important to showcase first of all what private- public nonprofit partnership can do in order to increase the stock of affordable homes, and to put it into the parade allows for a larger group to come view them and see what's possible," Thomas Jefferson Community Land Trust Executive Director Christine Jacobs said.

The parade of homes continues this weekend.
