Community Health Organizations in Charlottesville Team Up to Provide Free Services
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Several community health organizations are providing free services to people - no appointment necessary. Drop-in Wellness Tuesdays are every week at the Jefferson School City Center.
Representatives from Sentara Starr Hill Health Center and the Thomas Jefferson Health District offer rapid HIV and hepatitis C testing, as well as blood pressure and A1C checks.
“We focus on preventing and managing chronic diseases, so to have people come into our center and on the spot have access to testing is great and combine that with services provided by The Women's Initiative and Common Ground Healing Arts,” said Jacklene Martin, director of community benefits for Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital.
Representatives from The Women's Initiative and Common Ground Healing Arts are also on-site to provide mental health services and relaxation techniques. The clinic is every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
