Charlottesville Area Transit Trolley to Detour South Street West for 90-Day Observation
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Charlottesville Area Transit's (CAT) Free Trolley route is changing for the next three months.
The trolley will detour from Water Street onto South Street West between Ridge/McIntire Road and 2nd Street SW. During this time, CAT will gather ridership data and public input.
The organization will then work with city councilors and the community to determine whether or not the changes will become permanent.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Starting Sunday, October 6, 2019, CAT’s Free Trolley route will detour from Water Street onto South Street West between Ridge/McIntire Road and 2nd Street SW.
This temporary change will be active for 90 days. The 90-day observation period is designed to gather ridership information and public sentiment. Once the evaluation period is over, CAT will work with City Council and the general public to determine if the detour changes should become permanent.
