Covenant junior quarterback Jonas Sanker has been named the Falcon Club Player of the Week.

Sanker accounted for seven touchdowns Friday in Covenant's 54-26 win over Kenston Forest.

Sanker rushed nine times for 180 yards and three touchdowns.

He also threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns.   All three touchdowns went to his older brother Nic Sanker.

"Growing up together I really know him," says Jonas Sanker about his brother Nic.  "I know he wants the ball and he's really hungry this year. This is his last year playing high school football. I know he's hungry to do well. Even when I throw a little 5 yard pass, he would take it all the way which was really big for us."

Covenant head coach Seth Williams says about Jonas Sanker, "He's our hardest worker on the practice field, one of our hardest workers in the weight room, watches more film than anyone. Really tries to hone his craft during the offseason."

Jonas Sanker also had a 90-yard interception return for touchdown Friday.
