ACC Releases UVa Men's Basketball Complete Schedule

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Atlantic Coast Conference released the 2019-20 men’s basketball conference schedules on Thursday night (Sept. 12) on the ACC Network. Defending NCAA champion Virginia will play 20 ACC regular-season games, including 10 contests at John Paul Jones Arena, for the first time in league history.
ACC Home Schedule
The Cavaliers’ home ACC schedule includes contests against North Carolina (Dec. 6 or 7), Virginia Tech (Jan. 4), Syracuse (Jan. 11), NC State (Jan. 20), Florida State (Jan. 28), Clemson (Feb. 5), Notre Dame (Feb. 11), Boston College (Feb. 19), Duke (Feb. 29) and Louisville (March 7). Five of UVA’s 10 ACC home games will be played on Saturday.
ACC Road Schedule
Virginia’s road schedule consists of games at Syracuse (Nov . 6), Boston College (Jan. 7), Florida State (Jan. 15), Georgia Tech (Jan. 18), Wake Forest (Jan. 26), Louisville (Feb. 8), North Carolina (Feb. 15), Pitt (Feb. 22), Virginia Tech (Feb. 26) and Miami (March 4).
The Cavaliers will play 12 games on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, including an ACC Big Monday contest at NC State (Jan. 20) on ESPN. Six contests will be televised on the ACC Network, including the Cavaliers’ conference opener at Syracuse (Nov. 6) and ACC home opener vs. North Carolina (Dec. 7).
Virginia returns Mamadi Diakite (Guinea, Africa), Kihei Clark (Woodland Hills, Calif.), Braxton Key (Charlotte, N.C.) and Jay Huff (Durham, N.C.) from last year’s NCAA championship team that won a school-record 35 games and captured a share of its ninth ACC regular-season title. The Cavaliers yielded 56.1 points per game, finishing first nationally in scoring defense for the fifth time in the past six seasons.
Virginia men’s basketball season tickets are sold out for the 2019-20 season. A limited number of single-game tickets will likely be available for each game with additional tickets available for home games when UVA classes are not in session. Fans can also purchase tickets online at VirginiaSports.com or in-person at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium. The Cavaliers host JMU in their home opener on Sunday, Nov. 10.
Pepsi Blue-White Scrimmages/Meet the Teams Day
UVA men’s and women’s basketball will hold their Pepsi Blue-White Scrimmages Presented by the Virginia Lottery on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena.
This year’s format will feature the women’s team beginning at 3 p.m. with skills competitions followed by a scrimmage. The men’s program will hold a scrimmage starting at approximately 4 p.m. The annual Meet the Teams Day will be held at the conclusion of the men’s scrimmage. Admission and parking are free for both events.
A Night with the National Champions
The Virginia men's basketball program will host A Night with the National Champions on Friday, Sept. 13 at John Paul Jones Arena. The special event will celebrate the program's first NCAA title with the presentation of the team's championship rings and raising of its championship banner to the rafters of JPJ.
Upper level tickets for this event remain on sale for $25 each. Seating for a Night with the National Champions is general admission.
