CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A Charlottesville boutique is holding a bra drive to support formerly enslaved women and girls.

Derriere de Soie has been holding the event for about a decade. The donated bras will be given to Free the Girls, an organization which aims to help victims of sex-trafficking. The nonprofit provides the start-up inventory for the formerly enslaved women and girls, who start their own businesses selling the donated bras.

"I really believe in Free the Girls' mission to help set up formerly enslaved women and girls with the skills to be independent, to be entrepreneurial, and to be able to take care of their families in a way that they've never been able to before,” Derriere de Soie Owner Megan Giltner said.

Derriere de Soie is accepting donations of clean and gently-used bras. The drive begins Monday, September 16, and runs until Saturday, September 21.
