CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - James Alex Fields Jr., 22, the Ohio man who drove his car into a crowd of counter-protesters following the “Unite the Right" rally on August 12, 2017, must pay $75,800.04 total in restitution to several of the victims.

In June, Fields was sentenced to life in prison for his crimes. Fields plead guilty to 29 charges and agreed to pay restitution for the entire scope of his criminal conduct, but deferred a ruling on the amount of restitution to be ordered.

On Monday, the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia - Charlottesville Division released the restitution agreement. That restitution will be paid to the clerk of that court and will be distributed to the victims.
