CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Hundreds of people showed their support for young filmmakers who are making their mark on the movie industry on Saturday night at the Paramount Theater. At the annual Light House Studio's Youth Film Festival the audience got a firsthand look at 17 films the next generation of filmmakers has to offer.

Light House Studio executive director Deanna Gould says every year the talent exceeds her expectations. "You think that you have seen every story or every idea and then just every year we have just a whole new bank of films."

Some student films will be hitting the 2020 film festival circuit. Light House Studios says they are the only nonprofit organization dedicated to youth filmmaking in Virginia.

Next year, Light House Studio will celebrate 20 years of making kids' dreams of being filmmakers come true. Several alumni who have participated in the film festival in past years are expected to come back to town to help celebrate.
