Man Charged in Connection with Louisa Co. Shooting
09/06/2019 Release from the Louisa County Sheriff's Office:
At approximately 2 a.m. on the morning of Sept 5, 2019 a call was received about an individual at the hospital stating he had been shot in the stomach in Louisa. Investigators were sent to UVA to interview the victim. When investigators arrived and spoke with the victim it was determined that the victim had been shot by Thomas Johnson at an address on Taylor Road, located in Louisa County.
An interview with the suspect confirmed Thomas Johnson had shot Eric Bishop in the stomach.
Charges were obtained for unlawful shooting/wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless handling of a firearm.
Thomas Johnson, 57, was held without bond and will be brought to the General District Court on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 9 a.m.
