CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - One Charlottesville foster and adoption organization for animals is rescuing a dog that may have otherwise been put down.

On Thursday, Animal Connections took in a 6-year-old boxer named Sarah. She was on the verge of being put down when the shelter she was being housed in didn't have the resources to keep her.

"In a perfect world, all shelters would have the funds available to do all the proper betting that needs to happen so animals are ready to go," said Cynthia Viejo, who helped rescue Sarah.

Viejo introduced Sarah to potential foster parents on Thursday afternoon with the hope of soon finding her a home. Animal Connections is looking for other families who are willing to foster animals.
