Three linemen from the valley are heading to Bolivia to bring electricity to rural communities. It's part of a greater initiative called 'United We Light: Project Bolivia'.

The Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) linemen head out early on Wednesday morning. Then they'll spend three weeks climbing poles and running ten miles of line.

"Everyone going on the trip's very excited.  We're linemen.  This is what we love to do.  We love to go out and help people.  And we're always up for a challenge.  So it's more than just we're going down to put up power lines. We're actually making a difference in a community in another country and to me, that's pretty amazing," said JT Jacobs, SVEC lineman.
