Harrisonburg Police Department Makes Arrest in Shots Fired Call
Harrisonburg Police Department Press Release:
Harrisonburg, Va. – On Monday evening, 8/12/2019, at approximately 2200 hours, patrol officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of E. Rock St. and Myrtle St. Neighbors in the area reported at least one shot fired from a man holding a gun. No one was believed to be injured during the incident, and the suspect involved departed the scene on foot. The subsequent investigation led to the identification of a suspect who was taken into custody without incident Wednesday afternoon.
Gerardo Villeda-Romero, 26, of Harrisonburg, was arrested and charged with brandishing a firearm, discharging a firearm in a public place, reckless handling of a firearm, and possession/transport of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is currently being held at the jail without bond.
