JAUNT's Crozet CONNECT Bus Receives Positive Reviews from Community
CROZET, Va. (WVIR) - A brand-new JAUNT public transit bus connecting Crozet and Charlottesville has been up and running for just over a week now, with positive reviews. The Crozet CONNECT bus was launched August 5th and offers community members rides from Charlottesville to western Albemarle County, and back for only $2 each way.
On Wednesday night, JAUNT's CEO told the Crozet Community Advisory Committee that so far the operation has been smooth sailing and that some improvements are coming soon thanks to public feedback.
“We think it's the start of a lot of robust conversations with this area to find ways of not just serving the commuters but providing those community connections which might be on the weekends, bringing people into Crozet or out of Crozet for different recreational purposes,” said Brad Sheffield, JAUNT CEO.
JAUNT has partnered with the University of Virginia to have its Crozet CONNECT buses displayed on UVA's bus tracking app, TransLoc, so you can easily see where the closest bus stop is, and when the next bus will be coming. JAUNT is set to roll that feature out in the coming weeks.
