CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A Charlottesville musician is commemorating the anniversary of August 11 and 12 with a new song dedicated to the healing of the city. Christopher Barry co-wrote a song entitled ‘Cville Town’ to express the feelings of hurt he felt seeing his hometown in the spotlight for hatred and racism.

The song describes the Unite the Right Rally, protestors and violence that took place two years ago.

"What happened was really a tragedy and it was hurtful and I think you can hear that in the lyrics of the song it's very hurtful what happened but we need to acknowledge our feelings before we can heal,” said Barry.
