Dominion Energy Aims to Move Virginia Toward a Clean Energy Future
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Dominion Energy Virginia wants to move the commonwealth toward a clean energy future. The company is hoping to achieve this goal by increasing solar and wind projects.
They are seeking bids for up to 500 megawatts of solar generation in 2021 and 2022. A spokeswoman with dominion said in order to do this they need new solar facilities in Virginia.
"Is open-top facilities across Virginia so we certainly hope to have responses from across the state that could include the Charlottesville area and we're looking for people to submit to our proposals for power purchase agreements or the purchase and development of projects,” said Samantha Moore, with Dominion Energy.
Bid and confidentiality agreements are due August 15 and final asset purchase and power purchase proposals are due October 3.
