CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Waterboys foundation is serving up some tacos while raising money to build clean water wells in Africa. The organization founded by Charlottesville native and former University of Virginia football legend Chris Long hosted a Tacos on Tuesday dinner party at Sarisand Tile and Rockpile Construction in Charlottesville Tuesday night.

Everyone who attended made a donation to the water boys mission.

“When I was over in Tanzania, I got to see people that are digging water out of a dirty side stream and dealing with waterborne illnesses seeing how blessed we are. Seeing how little it takes to help them, it just took me to action and then seeing the Chris Long Foundation doing that on a worldwide scale it just fit right in,” said Kerry Rock, Chris Long Foundation volunteer.

Since its founding in 2015, Waterboys has provided clean water to more than 214,000 people by building 59 wells in Africa.
