Charlottesville Woman Indicted on Murder Charge in Death of 20-Month-Old
Nydia Lee of Charlottesville has been indicted on a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of her 20-month-old child.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA- On August 5, 2019, Charlottesville police officers arrested Nydia Lee, a 26-year-old resident of Charlottesville, on an indictment of second-degree murder.
This charge is the result of an extensive investigation by the Investigations Bureau of the Charlottesville Police Department into circumstances surrounding the January 10, 2019, death of Lee’s 20-month-old child.
Last week, the results of the investigation were presented to a multi-jurisdictional grand jury, who returned an indictment charging Lee with felony murder, the killing of another during the commission of child abuse, and the killing being accidental.
Lee is being held without bond at the ACRJ pending a bond review in Charlottesville Circuit Court.
