ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - An old tire plant in Albemarle County may get some new life.

Scottsville residents are again encouraged to weigh in on the former Hyosung tire plant during a meeting Monday, August 5. That meeting is set to get underway at the Victory Hall Theater on Valley Street at 7 p.m.

This is the first step in a three-part process that includes community outreach, a flood safety analysis, and a plan to determine what kind of businesses will be profitable.

"This factory site is the biggest opportunity in town: Walkable to the historic downtown, over 100,000 square feet of vacant industrial space, and if we're going to redevelop that we're going to make sure it's meeting the needs of our historic community," said Scottsville Administrator Matt Lawless.
