CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Piedmont Virginia Community College is hosting ‘Get Started’ information sessions this month for prospective students. The sessions are free and open to all at local libraries and community centers to make it less intimidating and more accessible than coming to campus.

PVCC's outreach manager said the sessions are held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. so those interested can drop by on their way home from work.

"They get to ask their unique situation and their questions because everyone comes from a different place. Adults are juggling a lot of balls in the air and so they need to find out if going back to college is feasible,” said Denise McClanahan.

The next sessions are August 5 at the Nelson Memorial Library, August 6 at the Southwood Community Center, and August 8 at the PVCC Eugene Giuseppe Center.
