CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Kyle Guy had to wait until after midnight, but the UVa junior was selected in the second round of the NBA Draft by the Knicks early Friday morning in Brooklyn.

New York will reportedly trade his draft right to the Sacramento Kings.

Guy was picked with the 55th overall selection.

He was the third UVa player selected in the 2019 Draft, and the Cavaliers had three players picked for the first time since 1987, when there were still seven rounds in the draft (Olden Polynice, Andrew Kennedy, Tom Sheehey).

Virginia had two players drafted in the first round for the first time in program history, as De'Andre Hunter (4th) and Ty Jerome (24th) were both selected.

Hunter was drafted by the Lakers for the Hawks, and Jerome was picked by the Sixers for the Suns.
