CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Virginia sophomore forward De'Andre Hunter was selected with the No. 4 pick in the first round of the NBA Draft on Thursday night in Brooklyn.

He is the highest UVa player drafted since Ralph Sampson went No. 1 overall in 1983.

Hunter was selected by the Lakers, with a pick that was traded to the Pelicans, and then traded to the Hawks, which means Hunter will be playing in Atlanta with former Cavaliers' star Justin Anderson.

It's an unprecedented night for the Wahoos.  Ty Jerome was selected 24th overall, which means UVa had two players picked in the first round of the NBA Draft for the first time in program history.

It's also the first time Virginia had multiple players selected in the same draft since 1995 (Corey Alexander, Junior Burrough).
