Sen. Kaine Calls on McConnell to Hold Vote on Gun Safety
WASHINGTON, DC (WVIR) - On the heels of Monday's roundtable in Charlottesville, Senator Tim Kaine called on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to hold votes on gun safety.
Kaine made that call during a speech on the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon.
Kaine supports a variety of legislation, including those to close loopholes in the background check system and keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers. The former Virginia Governor also introduced a resolution to honor the victims of the mass shooting in Virginia Beach earlier this month.
