ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Albemarle County voting officials picked up their materials for their precincts on Monday. Security is one element that is strictly enforced. Jake Washburn, the director of elections for Albemarle County, said he makes sure everyone follows the proper protocol.

"The critical materials - the electronic poll books and the ballots - the chiefs take those to their houses and lock them up the night before the election,” said Washburn.

"I feel confident with our election officials. All of our chiefs are well trained. They've been chiefs for many years and they feel confident they can handle a situation that might arise,” said Anne Hemenway, chair of Charlottesville Board of Elections.

The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11.
