C'ville Nonprofit to Host Information Session About New Suspended Driver's License Law
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Fountain Fund will be hosting an event on Tuesday, June 11 to provide more information about the new law which takes effect July 1, 2019. Thanks to that new legislation, people who had their licenses suspended due to unpaid court fines and fees will be able to get them reinstated.
“One thing that's really important is to make sure that your address is up to date so especially people who have had their licenses suspended for a period of time. They may have moved and the DMV doesn't have a record of the change of address. DMV is mailing out letters to everyone they have addresses for,” said Erika Viccellio, with The Fountain Fund.
The Fountain Fund plans to address any questions during this information session on Tuesday. The session will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center.
