CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Two Charlottesville community groups teamed up to help others in need. On Saturday, Impact Charlottesville - a group bringing together people from different faiths to create change - and the Notre Dame Club of Charlottesville hosted Reverend David T. Link.

Father Link was dean of the Notre Dame Law School for 25 years before becoming a priest. On Saturday, Link spoke about his life experiences helping others and urged people to serve those less fortunate in the community.

“There is a strong social justice concern in Charlottesville, there's just that desire to help that is here and impact really wanted to join in on this and bring his message to this community,” said Lou Chiarella, with the Notre Dame Club of Charlottesville.

The event with Reverend Link was part of a larger series with the Notre Dame Alumni group called Hesburgh Lecture.
