CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - People in Charlottesville are celebrating different cultures from across the world.

"African Faces, African Voices" highlights the history of various African countries like Ghana and Rwanda.

Speakers got the chance to share stories from their family, their culture, and their country at the event on Friday, June 7.

“The people here are very interesting to listen to, different cultures from all over the world,” Glorise Kade, who spoke at the event, said. “So especially from Africa, so when you are talking about different countries in Africa you can see people are very interested."

Friday’s event is part of Unity Days, which is a series of free events and programs meant to educate the community to move toward economic and racial justice.
