ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - The Dominion Energy distribution office in Orange County is closing this year.

Dominion says it decided to close the office after evaluating operation efficiency at all of its locations across the commonwealth.

The Orange location, which employs 24 people, will transition its employees out to other surrounding locations by September.

The energy company says it was a difficult decision, but hopes this decision will make it more efficient.

The electric transmission office will continue to operate from that location in the town of Orange.
