Independent Candidate Enters Greene Co. Commonwealth's Attorney Race
GREENE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - An independent is throwing his name into the race for Greene County commonwealth's attorney.
Edwin "Win" Consolvo announced his candidacy in front of the Greene County Circuit Courthouse Tuesday, June 4. The 46-year-old is currently an assistant commonwealth's attorney in Louisa County.
Consolvo has been involved in the legal system for almost two decades, including time as chief magistrate in the Tidewater area.
"I realized that with my experience I could do a lot of good. I could do a lot of good for the community, a lot of good for victims of crime, a lot of good for just the county in general," the candidate said.
Consolvo says law enforcement and prosecutors should work together. He plans to run alongside current Greene County Sheriff Steve Smith.
