Florida teen with down syndrome is crowned prom queen
NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Prom night had a fairytale ending for one Florida senior at Alonzo and Tracy Mourning High School.
"Queen? You're looking at it!" said Grace Long, who has down syndrome.
On Saturday, she was crowned Prom Queen.
"I felt like I was stepping into Cinderella. It's always been one of my dreams," she described.
That dream came true thanks to her classmates after she received the majority of the vote.
Long hasn't let her down syndrome stop her from making the most of her high school experience.
"I ride horses, and I also do swimming. I'm a great dancer. I'm a cheerleader," she listed.
She certainly showed off those moves on Saturday night as she spun around the dance floor with the prom king.
