Chris Long Announces NFL Retirement
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Chris Long is retiring from the NFL.
The former UVa and St. Anne's-Belfield football star made the announcement on Saturday night via Twitter.
Long won the Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2017 and the Eagles in 2018
He recorded 333 tackles and 70 sacks during his NFL career.
Long was the #2 overall selection out of Virginia in the 2008 NFL Draft, after being recognized as a unanimous First-team All-American.
Chris Long won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award following the 2018 season for his numerous charitable endeavors, such as Waterboys.
His alias, Rod Carriker, is also a 'Hopeful Powerball Player.'
