05/15/2019 Release from the Charlottesville Municipal Band:

Charlottesville, VA - May 15, 2019: The Charlottesville Municipal Band, the soundtrack of our community since 1922, will return to The Paramount Theater for three programs in their 97th Season Summer Concert Series on July 2, July 16, and July 30. Each performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. This concert series is free to attend. As this popular event is always well-attended, patrons are encouraged to arrive early.

The Family Pops July 2 performance, which will kick off the exciting 97th season at The Paramount, will feature soloists clarinetist James Tobin in "Concerto #1," and vocalist Terri Allard and Harmonicist Gary Green in "Over the Rainbow."

Additional soloists include trumpeter Don Brubaker and vocalist Bob McDonald for the July 16 performance; and Rivanna Winds, Charlottesville/Albemarle Sax Quartet, and trumpeter Greg Thomas for the July 30 performance.

Before each concert from 7 p.m. to 7:25 p.m. there will be a musical instrument petting zoo for children where they can explore the instruments of the band at the foot of the stage.
