Groups Partner to Inform Families on Dangers of E-Cigarettes
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Now labeled as an epidemic among teenagers, health professionals in central Virginia want families to be aware of the dangers of vaping.
On Tuesday, May 14, the Tobacco Free Community Coalition partnered with Charlottesville and Albemarle County schools to host a town hall.
The event, which was held at Charlottesville High School, featured an open discussion as well as a chance for people to talk with experts about the impacts of e-cigarettes. Experts highlighted the dangers of vaping and how to spot the vapes or 'juules', which can be easily concealed.
A new state law set to go into effect this summer prohibits anyone under 21 years old from purchasing or possessing any nicotine products.
