CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - An Albemarle County car dealership is sharing some love with families in need.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charlottesville will soon be cashing a check for a little more than $10,000 from Umansky Subaru.

Executive director Rita Ralston says the money will go a long way helping families with a sick child stay close to the University of Virginia Medical Center.

“It’s huge, but it takes a lot of resources to do what we do. Nineteen families a night, preparing meals, supplies, so it just becomes a tremendous help to us,” said Ralston.

The check presentation is part of a nationwide Subaru campaign called Share the Love Event.

Ralston says gifts and donations like the one presented Wednesday, May 8, are what keep the house running 365 days a year.
