CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A Charlottesville police car is damaged after an unplanned trip down an embankment.

The incident occurred Tuesday, May 7, when officers were chasing a felony suspect.

Police say an officer got out of his car to chase a man on foot just off 7th Street.

That's when his cruiser rolled backward and down an embankment. The cruiser sustained some damage.

Police have not yet said how much repairs will cost, and no injuries are reported.

Police confirm the suspect has now been arrested.
