Federal Judge Mulling Indictments Against Men Connected to Unite the Right Rally
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A federal judge in Charlottesville will take a few days to decide if indictments will be dropped against three white supremacists charged in the fallout of the Unite the Right Rally.
On Monday, lawyers for Benjamin Daley, Michael Miselis and Tom Gillen argued the rioting charges should be dropped because the anti-rioting act is unconstitutional.
A grand jury indicted the trio in November of 2018. As members of ‘Rise Above Movement,’ they traveled from California to Charlottesville in August 2017. Trial is set for June, 2019.
