CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Families around the Charlottesville area are rolling into Easter.

On Saturday, parents and their kids came out to the Carver Recreation Center in Charlottesville for a night of skating. Some said they wanted to take part in the event as a way to bring their families closer together before the holiday on Sunday.

“They came down to visit for their Spring Break and because it's Easter we wanted to spend time with each other. Of course, this is a time where you want to be around family so we decided that this would be a nice family event to come out and support the community also at the same time,” said Maria Torrence, who lives in Waynesboro.

The Carver Recreation Center also hosted an Easter Egg Hunt, hiding eggs throughout the facility for kids to find.
