Press Release from Steve Harvey for White Hall:

Dateline: CROZET, VA 4/19/19 — Steve Harvey, Father of three and Army Vet announced that he will be seeking to represent his White Hall district neighbors on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.

“As my children grow up in Albemarle County, I believe it is my duty to help shape the community they will learn, love and someday inherit.” Harvey, a retired US Army Aviator and new farm owner wants to address economic opportunity, educational best practices, and regulatory reform. “Ever-escalating debt, ever-escalating taxes and rapidly expanding budgets are unsustainable. 88% of our revenue comes from local taxes. With the enormous 5.25% tax hike this week it'll be even more than that next year and there is no end in sight! Economic opportunity in the county has been drying up for a decade. Someone needs to put their foot down." That foot belongs to Steve Harvey.

Harvey intends to use his experience interfacing with his neighbors in Albemarle and the surrounding counties to find solutions to the many challenges facing the area. "I have spoken with dozens of business owners and they tell me that the red tape in the permitting process made it too expensive and time-consuming to open or grow here. We already have the beauty and population that is so attractive to agribusinesses and farmers. We need to address the regulatory process to bring those businesses here and take some of the stress off of our over-taxed families."
