Charlottesville Nonprofit Aids Efforts in Donating to Help Rebuild Notre Dame
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A Charlottesville nonprofit is stepping up to help people who may want to donate to efforts aimed at helping to rebuild Notre Dame.
Alliance Française Charlottesville says images of the cathedral burning on Monday, April 15, left members speechless.
The cultural center has received an outpouring of support from the Charlottesville community.
As a result, the group wants to make sure people donate to trusted sources for the rebuilding of Notre Dame.
“This estimate from the architect is that we will be able to rebuild and not condemn, which is a very positive sign to date,” Sophie Parson, the executive director of Alliance Française Charlottesville, said. “It's going to take a lot of time, lots of money, lots of know-how, we have them and together we're going to try to rebuild that wonderful piece of art, yes.”
The nonprofit says this is a terrible tragedy for everyone, regardless if you've been to Paris.
