Students at the University of Virginia Perform Short Plays Written in a Day
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Student actors and actresses at the University of Virginia are performing their short plays, all written in a day.
Over the course of 24 hours, students write, act and perform in original short plays. All of the plays consisted of one to three people and this year a one-person play was performed in Helms Theater. The organizer Jess Miller said the event was much more than just a play.
"To just think that none of the plays that are about to be performed tonight didn't exist 24 hours ago is just really, really cool and I hope people will be impressed by the sheer passion and love and all the hard work that these people have put in today,” said Miller.
The drama department puts on ‘Play in a Day’ every semester for people in the community to watch.
