California Congressman Files Suit in Albemarle Circuit Court
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - California Congressman Devin Nunes has filed a defamation lawsuit in Albemarle County Circuit Court.
The Republican wants jurors to hear the conspiracy case against the McClatchy Company - a communications strategy company - and its owner who lives in Arlington. It stems form the Fresno Bee's Investigation surrounding a California winery Nunes partially owned.
The civil complaint cites McClatchy's investment in the Charlottesville business, moonlighting, and its article dissemination in Virginia as reason for filing the complaint in Albemarle. He's seeking $150 million in damages, plus more in other costs.
