CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - An organization at the University of Virginia is helping survivors of domestic violence get legal help.

Trauma attorneys from four Richmond-based legal clinics will travel to the Women's Center on the UVA Corner Sunday, April 14. Each attorney will offer four hours of free consultations.

The center encourages anyone attending to bring a support ally, friend, or pet.

"The more people who do come forward and seek legal action, the more attention it brings to this unfortunate situation, and the more empowered people are," said Sarah Steele, legal clinic supervisor.

The center will provide refreshments to help people feel more comfortable in the space. The clinic will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday

Anyone interested in attending can call the Women's Center to schedule an appointment. Click here for more information.
