AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Augusta County leaders have once again tabled the decision on a 1,000-acre solar project proposed for parts of Stuarts Draft and Lyndhurst.

This time, the request to delay voting came from the lawyer representing Augusta Solar and the 13 landowners.

Attorney Thomas Kleine says the applicant wants to work with property owners to modify the special-use permit application following feedback from county staff.

“And also in response to some of the public comments we've heard - for example, I believe I read, Mr. Chairman, your comment in the paper the other day where you said there's some of the parcels that you think make sense and there's others that you're scratching your head,” Kleine said. “We'd like to know which ones are causing you to scratch your head. And we'd like to see if there's something that we could do to potentially address that as part of the application."

Supervisors voted six to one in favor of tabling the vote for 30 days with Wendell Coleman dissenting.
