Albemarle Co. Hears from Community on Proposed Real Estate Tax Increase
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - With the Albemarle County fiscal year 2020 budget set for adoption one week from Tuesday, April 9, Albemarle County supervisors are working on the finishing touches.
On Tuesday night, the Board of Supervisors held a public hearing where community members could weigh in on the budget or the proposed 1.5-cent real estate tax increase.
That tax hike would bring the rate to just over 85 cents per $100 of assessed property value.
This influx in cash will go toward capital improvement projects, like Biscuit Run Park and public transportation options to and from Crozet.
The final budget is set for approval on Tuesday, April 16.
