ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - A pinwheel garden has popped up at the Albemarle County Office Building on 5th Street Extended.

It's all part of an effort to bring awareness to child abuse and how it persists across the world.

People with Child Protective Services planted the pinwheels around trees by the building’s main entrance.

In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America introduced the pinwheel as the new national symbol for child abuse prevention.
